Teen Counseling focuses on creating an open and safe environment for teens to feel understood and comfortable with discussing personal feelings. In today’s society, social challenges have significantly increased with advancements in technology and a steadily growing social media presence. Peer pressure, conflicts within relationships and unhealthy social media messaging has been on the rise which likely has impacted an increase in teens experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. The goal for counseling is to build an amour of confidence and self-worth to stand against negative peer influences and other challenging situations. It is important for teens to feel empowered to love who they are, practice assertiveness in communication and equip themselves with effective tools for success in a socially evolving society.
Couples and Family Counseling
Couples and Family Counseling focuses on developing a supportive and trusting environment for two or more individuals to connect on a deeper level of understanding and commitment. Relationships with family, spouses and partners have a unique dynamic that can significantly impact physical, emotional and spiritual health when challenges arise. The goal of counseling is to gain both insight and awareness into the expectations and values of the relationship, setting and maintaining healthy boundaries, as well as identifying ways to meet the needs of each individual in a mutually agreed upon way. There is value in relationships, therefore it is important to restore this in a healthy way.
Christian Counseling focuses on providing a non-judgmental and kind therapeutic environment for individuals, couples and families to gain insight into life’s challenges from both a clinical and spiritual perspective. Biblical healing principles are often used to help facilitate discussions on processing current struggles and identifying effective coping skills to practice moving forward. I have found a strong connection among one’s spiritual journey with feelings, thoughts, health, resiliency and self-esteem. Studies show that having a spiritual connection significantly improves overall quality of life.
Group Counseling focuses on providing a supportive environment for individuals experiencing similar challenges. A lot of people feel alone in their problems and thoughts. While each of us may have unique circumstances, none of us are alone in our struggles. Group therapy offers a sense of “togetherness” and reduces feelings of isolation and alienation. Members can offer personal experiences and a listening ear to others within the group as a way to connect. You will be able to develop a deeper understanding of and connection to your feelings and emotions.
